Air & Sea Freight

The right transport mode for every shipment, between Guinea, Dubai and China.

Air or sea: choosing the right option for every shipment

Choosing between air freight and sea freight is one of the most important decisions when organizing an international shipment. Each mode of transport has its own strengths: speed for one, cost savings for the other, and the right choice depends on the nature of your goods, their volume, their value and above all your deadlines.

At MDD Air Cargo, we don’t sell a single mode of transport: we advise you objectively on the solution best suited to your situation, and we sometimes combine both to optimize cost and time on the same shipment. For an urgent sample or critical spare parts, air freight remains unbeatable for speed. For large volumes of non-urgent goods β€” furniture, building materials, heavy equipment β€” sea freight offers an unmatched cost-to-volume ratio.

Our experience across our network’s three main routes β€” Conakry, Dubai and Guangzhou β€” allows us to offer proven solutions, with reliable air and sea partners at every step. Whether you are importing from China or exporting to the Gulf, our team reviews each request individually to recommend the best option, or the most advantageous combination of both transport modes available.

Beyond the choice between air and sea, we also handle multimodal shipments that combine both solutions on the same route: for example, sea transport to the nearest port, followed by an air relay for the final urgent leg. This flexibility allows us to build, for each client, the most relevant solution rather than offering a standardized package that wouldn’t match the reality of every shipment.

Our role therefore goes beyond booking space on a plane or a ship: we act as a genuine logistics advisor, able to challenge your usual choices if a more efficient alternative exists for your next shipment. This advisory approach is an integral part of our commitment to every client, at no additional cost.

Air Freight

Air freight is the go-to solution when time is short. In just a few days, your goods can travel from Guangzhou to Conakry via Dubai, compared to several weeks by sea. This speed makes it the natural choice for commercial samples, urgent spare parts, high-value or perishable goods, and any shipment where time matters more than cost.

We serve the main routes between Conakry, Dubai and Guangzhou through our network of partner airlines, with regular flight frequencies that allow us to offer flexible shipping slots. Our team handles cargo space booking, consolidation with other shipments to optimize costs, IATA-compliant labeling and flight tracking through to arrival.

On arrival, our local agents immediately take over customs clearance and final delivery, so the time saved in the air is not lost in ground formalities.

For markets where speed determines commercial competitiveness β€” fashion products, consumer electronics, critical spare parts for a stalled factory β€” air freight isn’t a convenience option but an operational necessity. We know that in these situations, every day saved has a direct economic value for your business.

Sea Freight

Sea freight remains the most economical solution for transporting large volumes over long distances. Full container loads (FCL) or consolidated cargo (LCL), we adapt the formula to the quantity of goods to be shipped, whether it’s an entire container of building materials or a shared load with other shippers to reduce your costs.

Our shipping line partners operate regular rotations between Chinese ports, the United Arab Emirates and the port of Conakry, with transit times that we communicate clearly from the quotation stage so you can plan your supply chain accordingly. We handle container space booking, voyage tracking, maritime documentation β€” bill of lading, manifest, certificate of origin β€” and coordination with port forwarders on arrival.

While transit takes longer than air freight, sea freight remains essential for large volumes where cost per unit shipped is decisive for the profitability of your business.

For clients who regularly ship the same types of products, we also offer annual contract rates that lock in your logistics costs over time, regardless of fluctuations in the sea freight market.
